Samsung's foray into the mobile ad business


Samsung confirmed OpenX Technologies are working together to create a mobile advertising platform that will compete with Google and Apple.

Samsung AdHub service called Market that allows companies menampatkan ads on mobile phones and Samsung tablet, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Samsung will start selling mobile advertising services is in the second quarter of this year.

Potential advertisers will be able to buy advertising space on mobile devices through both application developers and Samsung, but details about the rates (prices) is not yet known.

"This is the first device manufacturer to enter the space technology to the advertisements in this way," said Chief Executive Tim Cadogan OpenX.

"It became very clear to the players in the mobile space that the ads would be a very important part of the revenue mix," he added.
