She was the youngest of three children born to John and Cissy Houston in East Orange, New Jersey. She was born into a musical family as her mother was a successful R&B backup singer, her father was Cissy's agent, and her cousin was Dionne Warwick.


Whitney Houston has a full name Whitney Elizabeth Houston. She began her career in the music world at 1985 when she signed a record contract with Arista Records and produced her self-titled album named "Whitney Houston". Her first album became became the biggest-selling album by a debut artist and received her first award (Grammy Award) for one of the number one songs on the album, "Saving All My Love for You."

Whitney Houston married ex-New Edition singer Bobby Brown with whom she had her only child, their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown in March 1993. At the end life, She was found dead in a Beverly Hills hotel room on 11 February 2012. Her final acting performance was in Sparkle (2012) and the pathetic for her because her new movie released after her death.
